MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE VIRGIN ISLANDS

Greetings and Congratulations to the Class of 2021:

Commencement is one of the most sacred events of a University. It represents that moment in the academic year where we celebrate our collective success and launch our students into the world to make it better through the use of their skills, talents and expertise.

This Commencement is even more special because of what these graduates have endured. They have spent the last year and a half of their academic work in a different type of academic environment. The pandemic forced the University to deliver our courses remotely and the use of technology became fundamental to our success. They did not let this major change interfere with their quest to complete and obtain their degree. Therefore, we are honored to bestow upon them the credentials and validation that they so richly deserve.

To the family, friends and supporters of our graduates, I want to personally thank you for standing by them during this challenging journey. You share in their success and you should be very proud of their accomplishments.

To the faculty and staff who taught, inspired and supported our graduates, I give you my sincere gratitude. Your patience, consistency and care, especially during the pandemic, is an amazing testament to the spirit of the University of the Virgin Islands.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire University community, we commend you on your accomplishments and wish you Godspeed. The University is extremely proud of you and look forward to celebrating with you. We encourage you to remain engaged with your alma mater, and remember that you will always be ambassadors for the University of the Virgin Islands.

The Class of 2021 is amazing and I salute you and wish you enormous blessings in all of your future endeavors!

Sincerely,
David Hall
President
